VIN, or the Veterinary Information Network, is an online service available to veterinarians for the exchange of new ideas, research, and discussion. Specific questions can be posted regarding a case (and Dr. Gignac has posted many over his time) looking for feedback from board certified specialists in a particular area. All veterinarians are allowed to join in on the discussion to give suggestions or their previous experience with a similar problem. It is a wonderful service, giving us (almost) instant support and up-to-date information from some of the leading specialists in the field -- all for free to the client! In addition to being able to post questions, the message boards can be extensively searched for similar problems. This is of tremendous value to Dr. Gignac and the staff, who have access to the latest in veterinary research, be it medical, dental, surgical, behavioural, or otherwise. It is of most value to our patients, who constantly benefit from the new information and tools that we have at our disposal through continued learning.
